Benjamin Arnold studied under award-winning poet Judy Jordan (Carolina Ghost Woods and 60 Cent Coffee and a Quarter to Dance) and earned a degree in Literature and Writing Studies from Cal State San Marcos in 2003.

When he is'’t trying his best to bring the world of literature and writing to adolescents, he is writing, painting, organizing, promoting poetry, and raising a reader (TK). Benjamin has happily survived teaching high school English for five years.

He lives in Reno with his wife, Tami, and son, TK. Word Riot (www.wordriot.org) has published some of his poetry. He is working on his second collection of poems for LeRue Press.

As the founder of BEtheCAUSE, a collective of artists, musicians, and poets, Benjamin hosts monthly all-ages art shows, open mics, and poetry slams. He is also a contributing editor for Perigee (www.perigee-art.com), one of the top 50 literary publications in the world.

2009 Donor Drive with Special Gift!

Perigee's 2009 Donor Drive is now underway, and we're asking for your support to continue publishing. Web Del Sol recently named Perigee one of the top 50 literary publications in the entire world—online or in print. That's because for six years we've worked to bring readers cutting edge poetry, fiction, and prose at no cost whatsoever—delivered in a way that continues to redefine the tradition of publishing. And we've done so without relying on annoying advertisements or log-in procedures. Unlike other, big-name online publications, we never require writers to pay for making regular submissions to Perigee.

Our free access and non-profit mission mean that nothing gets between us and our readers. And those readers stretch across every hemisphere of the world. Perigee is most popular in the US and the UK, but we continue to draw readers from countries all over the globe, including Australia, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, and in South America. Over 9,000 readers enjoy each issue of Perigee, and not a single one is made to click through an advertisement, enter his e-mail address, or pay a single dime to read each issue from virtual cover to virtual cover.

We need your support to make sure we reach our potential. Perigee has big plans in store, but we intend to pursue them while sustaining our mission and the methods which have garnered top-50 status and five Pushcart nods. That is why our all-volunteer staff of writers, editors, and designers must once a year ask our subscribers to chip in just a little more.

Whether you've already donated or are a new-comer to Perigee, we hope you will consider making a donation today. 100% of your donation goes straight toward our non-profit mission, and your contribution is tax-deductible in the US.

Also, for the first time ever, we're offering a special gift during our 2009 Donor Drive: make a donation of $20 or more before November 10th and (in addition to the regular gifts for your donor level) you'll receive a free copy of Traveling Sitting Still, the Publisher's-Choice-winning collection of short stories by Perigee's founding editor—signed and personalized to you, of course.

Please consider donating to Perigee's 2009 Donor Drive. We have many levels, starting at just $1, and you can enjoy the pride that comes with knowing your support brings literature to readers all over the world, at no charge whatsoever. Learn more by clicking here.

Help keep the muse in orbit, online.
