Marvin Bell, Finalist Judge

Perigee is excited to announce that renowned poet Marvin Bell has agreed to serve as Finalist Judge for Perigee's 2006 Poetry Contest, opening September 1st. We know all of you join us in welcoming him, and here's your chance to actually say it (post a comment)!

Poetry Editor Jensea Storie worked with Bell at Pacific University, where he is a faculty member of the MFA Creative Writing program. He was kind enough to accept her, and our, invitation to join us as Finalist Judge.

We are sure that Bell's instinct and talent will lend a whole new dimension to our annual contest, and carry on the legacy of our past guest judges Judy Jordan and Steve Kowit.

2006 Poetry Contest

Our most popular contest kicks off one month from today. You know what that means! Start gathering up your three best poems, or start writing them soon. As usual, the low reading fee will allow each contest participant to submit up to three works of verse.

We are currently approaching some notable poets and discussing a guest judgeship. The announcement of our 2006 Finalist Judge will be made on this blog shortly.

In the meantime, polish those poems!
