New Submission Period Opens!

Perigee is now accepting submissions to our summer issue, number 17. We are looking for your best poetry, fiction, memoir, and visual art. Those who submitted work to our 16th issue (due out April 15th) are invited to submit work to our summer issue now—even if you haven't yet heard from us on the status of your submission(s).

The editors and our reader are carefully considering all of the fine work sent to us for our spring issue and we will be meeting soon to make our decisions. In the meantime, we hope that if you're reading these words you'll take a few moments to visit our current issue, read our submission guidelines, and submit your work today!

CA Poets in the Schools Fundraiser!

This Friday the 16th, and Saturday the 17th poet Daryl Chinn (Small Parts of the Back from University Press of FL) will cook special fund-raising dinners to benefit California Poets in the Schools (CPITS). The dinners will be served on Friday the 16th at 6:30 at a home in Valley Center and Saturday the 17th at 6:30 at a home in Del Mar.

Daryl is going to make Bird's Nest Soup and other gourmet Chinese dishes. Between courses, students from CPITS workshops will perform their work!

This dinner will be a feast for the taste buds and the literary senses. Do you know anyone hungry for home-made Chinese food? A donation not only orders you a special dinner, but it keeps living poetry in K-12 classrooms.

For reservations please contact info(at)perigee-art(dot)com and you will be put in contact with CPITS organizer Brandon Cesmat. We hope those residing in the San Diego area with a taste for good food and good poetry will support this fund raising effort!

Submission Period Closing Soon

The submission period for our 16th issue, due out on April 15th, will soon close. Now is the best time to submit work to Perigee if you haven't already, since the editors will soon be deciding on our next issue's content. This means a quicker response time for those who submit in the next few days.

But hurry, before long we will only consider work for our summer issue, and you'll have missed the chance to contribute to our spring issue.
